Body of Santa Fe Founder: Lori Parrish
Recipe development of locally grown, vegan cooking.... in 1974 her project was "fields for people"
Anna: Tell us about your space and the energy it brings to the community. What is your goal or mission for the Body of Santa Fe?
Lori: After co-founding and running a school of Natural Healing for 25 years in Santa Fe, I decided to open BODY in 2003 as a place of health and well-being. My vision with BODY was to create a community centric place where people could gather around the theme of common well-being.
Anna: What kind of classes do you offer at Body of Santa Fe?
Lori: We have 2 studios that host many classes each week both in person and virtual in Yoga, Dance, Pilates and various forms of movement.
Anna: The yoga industry has gone through a lot of transformations this past year. What have been some of the most significant reckonings at Body of Santa Fe?
Lori: We have experienced a deepening of our yoga program in both commitment and in appreciation and value. Our students have needed yoga more than ever and for a much wider variety of reasons, starting with emotional and mental health. Expanding our offering into the virtual base has allowed students to get what they need either in the studio or on-line or a mixture of the two.
Anna: Lori, I’ve loved getting to talk with you about your mission and your business. We are so grateful that you are an incredible Manduka studio partner. Is there anything you’d like to share in closing?
Lori: Not only do we offer yoga classes and mental health offerings, BODY of Santa Fe is a modern wellness complex with therapeutic massage, yoga, a clothing boutique & a vegan deli. Truly unique and a one-of-a-kind experience!
